Guess the subway station
from who rides it, and when.

A daily puzzle built from real MTA hourly ridership. Six guesses.

Puzzle

    How to play

Each day we hide one of New York's 426 subway station complexes. You start with how many people enter it on a weekday and when they do. Each wrong guess shows the distance and direction to the answer and unlocks a clue: weekend vs weekday riders, the rush-hour shape, platforms and accessibility, the line, the borough and finally its route bullets. Six guesses.

Filter the picker by borough or by route (tap a bullet, or type L or 7). Busy transfer complexes such as Times Sq–42 St count as one station.

    About the data

The MTA publishes hourly entries for every station complex. Weekday figures here are averages over 20 weekdays from Sep 24, 2026 to Oct 21, 2026 (Columbus Day included). See the station leaderboard.
