How to play

Each day we hide one of Boston's 24 neighborhoods. You start with its three most distinctive 311 requests: what it reports far more often than the rest of the city. Each wrong guess shows the distance and direction to the answer (from the average location of its requests) and unlocks a clue. Six guesses.

About the data

Boston residents filed 15,800 requests from Oct 1, 2026 to Oct 30, 2026 (up 10% on the previous 30 days), not counting information-only calls and request types that could stigmatize a neighborhood. Clues use a rolling 30-day window refreshed daily; each day's clues are frozen once that day's puzzle is published. Browse all 24 neighborhood profiles.
